GOOD MOVE! MUSIC is dedicated to improving the life chances of young people living in London through supercharging their creativity and helping them to become better skilled, more confident and happier musicians. Specialising in improvisation and composition skills, we deliver a wide range of creative music making activities across the greater London area.

Millbank Primary STOMP

In early 2012 Alex and Cameron ran a series of workshops with students from Millbank Primary School in Pimlico, London.

Millbank Primary commissioned Good Move! Music to create a performance with their children that was inspired by the Westend musical Stomp and explored the question 'can sound tell a story?'.

"I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you both for all of the effort, hard work and perseverance you put into the project. The kids absolutely loved it and I had at least ten parents come up to me when the kids went home to say how impressed they were. The same is true for Alyson and Diana, our head and deputy head. It was a really great show and far exceeded everyone's expectations."

SWITCH GEARS

GMM has been delivering a programme called SWITCH GEARS in two secondary schools in north London - La Sainte Union Catholic School in Highgate and Park View School in Tottenham.

LSU students perform their work created on the programme to fellow students.

The purpose of this project is to encourage participants to expand their music making beyond programming music on Garageband (or similar) and to develop their composition for live performance on instruments in an ensemble.
